Every year we sponsor an open house at our Wastewater Treatment Center. We host hundreds of guests, including scout troops, school groups, environmental advocates, local officials and any interested public. Guided tours of our facility are provided. We are proud to demonstrate how the treatment process works. Our open house is held during fall every year.
This year’s open house has been cancelled. As an alternative, this year we will be opening our doors to the community on select dates and times throughout the month of September for tours of the wastewater treatment plant! Learn more at https://www.dgsd.org/educational-opportunities/tours/.
Interested in getting a firsthand look at the wastewater treatment process? We provide tours of our facility year-round for groups. We strongly encourage teachers in the area to consider tours of our treatment plant as a memorable enhancement to a wide variety of teaching units. Tours can be arranged by calling us at 630-969-0664 or contact us.
We have partnered with several local school districts to educate our youth about wastewater treatment, what a sanitary district does in the community and the value of water. Interested in partnering with us? We would love to work with you and your classroom needs. Call us at 630-969-0664 or contact us.
