New Drop-Off Location for Used Cooking Oil Recycling

03/24/2018

The drop-off location for used cooking oil recycling has been relocated to outside the District’s Administration Center, 2710 Curtiss Street, on the east side of the building now available at all hours. District customers and residents in the surrounding area are encouraged to recycle their used cooking oil instead of pouring it down the drain or disposing of it in the garbage.

By recycling used cooking oil, you can help divert thousands of pounds of oil and grease away from sewers, preventing major clogs and issues.

Recycling cooking oil is easy:

  • After cooking, collect your used cooking oil into a container.
  • Bring your used cooking oil in a sealed container to our Administration Center in Downers Grove.
  • We recycle it and turn it into electricity at our treatment plant!

For more information, visit our Cooking Oil Recycling page.

Please note, this program does not include the recycling of motor oil. The Village of Downers Grove collects motor oil at their Fleet Services garage, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
