District signs Wastewater Flagship Project agreement with WTA

The District recently signed a Wastewater Flagship Project agreement with the Water Technology Alliance (WTA), a Danish water utility consortium operating out of the Danish Consulate in Chicago. The agreement recognizes the wastewater treatment center as a Wastewater Flagship, an example of Danish methods and technologies that optimize processes with a particular emphasis on the energy profile of the facility. We were honored to host Esben Lunde Larsen, the Minister of the Environment of Denmark, who visited the plant to attend the signing ceremony on April 26, 2018.
