In Case of Sewer Backup

ATTENTION WESTMONT RESIDENTS!

If your Sanitary District account number begins with a 2A or 2C, your billing frequency will be changing. As the Village of Westmont will now be reading your water meter and billing you every two months, your Sanitary District sewer bill will follow the same frequency.

Due to this transition, the bill you receive from us at the end of August is for 3 months if your account number begins with a 2A, or is for 4 months if your account number begins with a 2C. Your next billing will be mailed the end of October and will be a regular two month bill.

If your Sanitary District account number begins with a 2B account, your regular billing frequency will remain monthly, however, to accommodate a recent water rate adjustment, your August bill is for 2 months, you will not be billed in September, and your October bill will be for 1.5 months. Thereafter, your bills will return to a monthly frequency.

E-PAY is now here! The Downers Grove Sanitary District now offers a new and convenient service for paying your sewer bill online using the Illinois State Treasurer's Office and their E-Pay Program.

The E-Pay program provides you the ability to pay your sewer bill online using a credit card, debit card or electronic check. Please note that a convenience fee, which is collected by the credit card providers, will be applied to process your transaction.

The accepted forms of payment are as follows: MasterCard, Discover, American Express, debit cards with any of the above-mentioned logos, or E-Check (electronic check) from your bank account.

The Downers Grove Sanitary District is responsible for providing sanitary sewer service for the Village of Downers Grove, the portion of the Village of Westmont west of Cass Avenue, and portions of Woodridge, Lisle, Oak Brook, and Darien, Illinois. We are a separate unit of local government, independent of the municipalities where we provide sewer service. We are not part of the Village of Downers Grove.

The Downers Grove Sanitary District was organized in 1921 under the State of Illinois' Sanitary District Act of 1917. Today we provide sewer service to 20,000 customers, including wastewater generated by more than 60,000 people and a number of commercial, industrial and institutional customers. We operate and maintain a sewer system with over 230 miles of sewer main, and a Wastewater Treatment Center with a design average capacity of 11 million gallons per day.
