Our Board of Trustees is entrusted with the authority to enact ordinances needed to define the policies, services and fees provided by the Downers Grove Sanitary District. Board members are appointed for staggered three year terms by the County Board Chairman with the advice and consent of the County Board.

The Sanitary District Board ordinarily meets at 7:30 pm on the second Tuesday of each month, at our offices located at 2710 Curtiss Street, in Downers Grove, Illinois. Interested public are welcome to attend the meetings. An opportunity for public expression is included at each meeting.

Our Board of Local Improvements is entrusted with the authority to review and approve new improvements to the sewer collection system. Applications for new sewer service and sewer extensions are brought to the Board of Local Improvements for review and approval. The Board of Local Improvements advises the Board of Trustees regarding annexation of property into the District’s service area boundaries.

The Board of Local Improvements consists of three members, each appointed for a one year term by the District's Board of Trustees. The Board of Local Improvements meets as needed to accommodate sewer service applications, typically 15 or 30 minutes before the Board of Trustees meeting. Interested public are welcome to attend the meetings.
